Pigs on Parade
The Pigs On Parade is part of “The Big Pig Gig” Community Festival sponsored by the Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerce. Once again, a number of local businesses throughout the village will be promoting the Big Pig Gig with large, painted, decorated, or constructed pigs. All you have to do is find them and you could win BIG prices.
VILLAGE WIDE PIGGY HUNT - August 15 - September 10, 2010
1. To participate, please download a Piggy Hunt brochure with rules and application information.
2. Entry form will supply the name of the business or company along with street address and website address. If you wish, offer a free promotional item or discount coupon to participants. This will be noted on the entry form.
3. The hunt for the pigs starts at businesses from August 23, 2010 until September 10, 2010. Participants complete the entry form by writing in the secret pig name (ex: “Quilty Milty,” “Hammy Mailbox,” “McSwino III,” etc). Businesses should prominently display the name of their pig.
4. After searching for all the pigs, participants turn in their entry form to the Village Centre Office - no later than September 10, 2010. Entry form will be validated and entered into a drawing for a chance to win $100 in MF Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificates.
LIVE “PIGS ON PARADE” PARADE - Friday, September 17th - Location details will be forthcoming.
1. Bring your pig to The Big Pig Gig Festival grounds by 4 pm and participate in The Big Pig Gig Opening Parade and Ceremony.
2. Parade will travel through the festival grounds to the display site.
3. Pigs must be on wheels or transportable by means of a flat dolly - which you provide.
4. Pigs will be judged by a secret panel. Red, White, or Blue ribbons will be awarded to the top three entries in two categories:
- The Most Creative Decorated/Painted Pig and The Most Creative Made from Scratch Pig.
5. Winners will be announced on the main stage at approximately 7:30 pm.
PIG VOTING CHARITY CHALLENGE - Saturday, September 18th, Noon to 4:00 pm.
1. Businesses with Pigs identify a local charity they want to promote
2. Festival attendees “vote” (with cash donations) for their favorite Pig and Charity.
3. All cash collected goes to the designated charities in the name of the business.
4. The Business (and pig) with the most money collected will receive a traveling trophy.
5. All pigs must be picked up no later than 10:00 pm on Saturday, September 18th.
THE PIGS ON PARADE OPPORTUNITIES
1. Create Your Own Pig from any materials you choose - Make your own 3Dimensional, lifesize, Artsy, Pig “Sculpture”
- Pig could reflect your company products or services, ie. a 3D quilted and stuffed fabric pig, a mailbox pig, etc
2. Purchase an Unpainted Fiberglass Pig, paint and decorate it yourself- $374 includes tax and shipping.
- Must be ordered by June 17, 2010, and will be delivered by Aug 7, 2010
3. “Recycle” a pig from previous years - Reuse or redecorate, and re-enter an existing pig.
